What are virtual teams?

A virtual team also termed a virtual workgroup consists of a group of people from different organizations, locations, or hierarchies that participate in common projects by making collaborative efforts to achieve shared goals and objectives. The team members perform tasks in a virtual environment that are created and maintained through software.
